Web 2.0 Tools

My favorite web 2.0 tools that I learned to use so far are Wordle and Image Chef. I enjoyed Wordle because I am very artistic and I think that it makes an awesome image made out of words. Image Chef was one of my favorites because you there is also many artistic signs, images, and animations.
The tool that will be most useful in the future is Google Docs. I think that it's a wonderful program because you can share a document with anybody of your choice. That means if you are working on a project with somebody you don't have to go over to their house. You can use Google Docs and you will be able to see the other person editing the project over the internet.
I think that this is a great program and I had a bunch of fun exploring and learning more about the internet and how to use the internet and its tools.

Wordle

I went to a site called Wordle. You can create an image with words of your choice. The size of the word depends on how many times you type it. For example, if I type candy ten times it will show up once but large. If I typed sports two times it will show up once but small because you only typed it twice. Then you can change the font, the color, and the format. I think Wordle can be useful for not only just an image but also for reports and projects. It's a great way to catch the reader's eye or to add some design and color. I really had a lot of fun making a Wordle image.

Google Documents

I just recently started using Google Documents and I have already found out how useful it is. I have shared many documents with different friends and it makes projects and sharing opinions so much easier. The way to use Google Documents is to create a G-Mail if you don't already have one. Then you go to Google and sign in in the top right corner. After that, you go to documents which is on the top left corner. In Google Documents you can create a document, power point, or a spreadsheet and it is all free. Another big advantage of Google Documents is you can use it on any computer. So if you are on a vacation or at someone's house you can work on anything in your Google Documents. Also, you can share a document with a friend and then you both can work on that document. It works really well if you are doing a project with somebody because you can work together without having to go to each other's house. I really enjoy Google Documents and I hope you will find it as useful as I have.

Shelfari

I have just recently created a Shelfari account and linked it to my blog. I really found Shelfari useful because you can keep track of the books you have read. Not only can you do that, you can show what you are currently reading and what you plan to read. Shelfari allows you to make friends, chat with people, and share your Shelfari shelf. I really enjoyed it, and I highly recommend making your own account on Shelfari. Start reading!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!! This New Years eve my family and I were at Mammoth. We celebrated New York time and watched the ball drop on television at nine. Everyone had some apple cider and we all toasted for the new year. Honestly, we didn't do any other celebrating. I didn't even stay up until midnight. Oh well. Hopefully 2010 will be a wonderful year full of happiness and joy! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

A Trip to Mammoth

From the 28TH of December to the 2ND of January my family and I went to Mammoth to ski. We stayed at a hotel called St. Anton which is right by Canyon Lodge. We all skied the first day, and the conditions were nice. It was a little windy, but the snow was great. That night I didn't feel good and low and behold I ended up with a 24 hour stomach flu, throwing up three times. It was horrible. I could barely sleep, so I stayed in the hotel with my mom for a day and a half recovering. It was great to finally get to go outside and ski, however that night my mom got the same thing that I just had. I felt bad for her but not bad enough to skip a day of skiing. While my mom slept in the hotel, my dad, brother and I skied as much as we could. At the top of the mountain, we went down Cornus a few times and we did the shoulder of Wipeout. My brother had a little trouble with the shoulder of Wipeout because it's a double-black diamond but he made it down. The last day everyone skied and the last run I did was Paranoid Flat with my dad. Paranoid Flat is one of the hardest runs at Mammoth. It's a double-black diamond and my dad and I did not pick the greatest time to do it. There were some rocks, it was a little icy, and there was no powder to slow you down or cushion you if you fell. It was scary when I looked down over the top of the run and saw how steep it was. It looks vertical. But I had done it many times before and so I skied down with my dad enjoying the challenge and ended the trip with a great run.

Happy Holidays!

For the holidays I celebrated Christmas with my family at my house. My brothers and I woke up early to see what we got in our stockings. I got many things including the Lord of the Rings books, the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie, and much more. We had a scrumptious turkey dinner and a rich Kentucky butter cake that filled me to the brim. I went to sleep with new wonderful memories that I will have forever.
